🔌 What Is a Breaker Panel?

A breaker panel (also called an electrical panel or circuit breaker box) is the main hub for your home’s electricity. It’s where power from the utility company enters your house and gets distributed to different rooms, outlets, and appliances.
The panel contains circuit breakers—small switches that control and protect each electrical circuit. If there’s a problem, like an overload or short circuit, the breaker will “trip” (shut off) to prevent damage or fire.

🕹️ Locate Panel and Breakers

Your home’s Breaker Panel is located in the Garage. Once you have opened that up, use the guide to locate which specific breaker is tripped.

🔁 Flip the Breaker If:

A room, light, or outlet stops working
Your garage door opener isn’t responding
Appliances or outlets near water (like in kitchens, bathrooms, or garages) stop working and won’t reset with the GFCI button
You hear a click or see a breaker that looks stuck in the middle (not fully ON or OFF)
Hot water stops working unexpectedly

⚠️ Don’t Flip the Breaker If:

You see sparks, burning smells, or smoke – call an electrician immediately
The breaker keeps tripping over and over – this could mean a deeper electrical issue
If you’re unsure what the breaker goes to, double-check first so you don’t accidentally turn off something crucial (like your HVAC or fridge)

💡 How to Flip It Safely:

Find the tripped breaker (usually sits in the middle position or looks off).
Push it all the way to OFF first.
Then, flip it firmly back to ON.
