Our Origin Story
Patterson Company was founded on a simple belief: building homes should be about people, not process. Our founder, Wes Patterson, grew up surrounded by custom homebuilding and craftsmanship, and after more than 25 years in corporate homebuilding leadership, he set out to create something different.
In 2009, during one of the toughest housing markets in history, Wes left a Fortune 250 national homebuilder to start Patterson Company. His vision was to combine the efficiency and best practices of large-scale homebuilding with the care, quality, and personal connection of a local builder. That balance remains at the heart of everything we do.
Our early opportunities—such as Gateway Village in Cool Springs—proved that purpose-driven growth can thrive even in challenging times. From those beginnings, Patterson Company has grown steadily and strategically, developing communities, selling and entitling land, and delivering homes across Middle Tennessee. Every project we take on is selected with intention, ensuring long-term sustainability and protecting the reputation that defines us.
